Meet our 2020 Zoo Crew ITerm! We are so exited to see what God has instore for us this year, and can’t wait to meet our elementary schoolers.

Day 3

Day 3 – Mrs. Farnsworth’s class

Today, we all expected the April showers to hit us, but it turned out to be a nice day. We picked up the kids in the bus early in the morning and headed to the zoo. A surprise karaoke sprung up the whole ride up.

We are so thankful to tour around with amazing kids that will grow up in the Cascade family. Thank you Mrs. Farnsworth’s class

Day 1 & 2

Day 1 – Mr. Hinderer’s class

 

 

Our first day touring! We had so much fun with Mr. Hinderer’s class, even if we didn’t know exactly where we were going.

 

Day 2 – Fun Day

Today, we toured around the park by ourselves without any kids (except for Mrs. Leach’s nephews, Gabriel and Logan). We also rode the carousel.

 

2019 Crew

Welcome to the Jungle! This year at Zoo Crew, we have a lot of new faces as well as returners to help children learn about animals and God. We will be touring Woodland Park Zoo with 3 different 3rd grade classes: Mr. Hinderer’s, Mrs. Farnsworth’s, and Mrs. Villhaur’s.

Our Bible verse this year is Job 12:7-10.

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
    or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
    or let the fish in the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know
    that the hand of the Lord has done this?
In his hand is the life of every creature
    and the breath of all mankind.

Mrs. Leach wanted our Iterm to have their sweatshirts first, and they arrived as of last Friday. Here’s our design:

04/05/18 Day 4!

Hello! We spent our final day of I-Term touring Mrs. Bailey’s class! After watching a quick zoo-safety video, the kiddos were very excited to see the new sloth bear cubs. The day was spent touring most of the exhibits and playing in the bushes (those seemed to be more exciting than the animals). After a long bus ride full of fun songs, the Zoo Crew couldn’t wait for Spring Break! We would like to thank all of our amazing chaperones for joining us this week and Mrs. Leach for organizing this fun I-Term!

04/04/18 Day 3!

Hello! Today we toured Mrs. Farnsworth’s class around the zoo! We had a lot of fun learning about the different animals and met a zookeeper who taught us about animal camouflage. It was a bit chilly and rainy, but that didn’t stop us from having a blast!

04/03/18 Day 2!

Hello! Because we were familiar with the zoo today, we used our day to have some fun and prepare for the kiddos we will be leading the next two days! In the morning, we planned our tour routes to make sure we know what we will be doing. During our fun time, we all took a ride on the famous carousel. We also tried to participate in the Penguin Feed, but they were not very hungry today. To end the day, we revisited our favorite exhibits until the bus arrived… as you can see below, we were rather tired by the time we got on the bus.

04/02/18 Day 1!

Hello! Your Zoo Crew was SO EXCITED to begin this week of I-Term! To kick the week off, our team met at the school for doughnuts before heading to Woodland Park Zoo. At the zoo, we met our amazing chaperones, split into groups, and began to find our way around. We visited the different exhibits, took LOTS of pictures, and got to know our groups. After a lunch break, our team ended the day with a Zoo Scavenger Hunt! Each team had to race to find different animals or objects and take pictures with them. Now that we know our way around the zoo, we can’t wait for the rest of the week!
